The City and a 10 dollar bill

This past weekend we went up to our old stomping grounds. Tyson had a residency seminar he had to speak at in Oakland. I was so excited, so we piled in the car and took off.
(Sorry for the lack of pictures, we forgot our camera)

It was a whirlwind of a trip, but highlights included:
 seeing old friends,
(We totally miss these guys!)
 going to our old ward,

seeing Cameron,

visiting with the Larsens, Hiatts, Bohnes,

reuniting Merrick with his long lost love,
(for more info on their love life click here
and Berkleigh with her BFFE (Kate),
and these True Religion Jeans for $10 at my favorite consignment store.
They retail at $80 at Nordy's! I am totally reselling them when Berkleigh is done.

Dumpy!

Don't let this face fool you.

This morning I asked the kids what they wanted for breakfast. Merrick said, "Appa saw!" (Translation: Applesauce)

I asked Berkleigh if she wanted Applesauce and she gave me the biggest stink eye EVER. So I poured the applesauce and gave Merrick some. He opened his mouth wide, and said, "Day Doo" (translation: Thank you) after he swallowed.

I gave some to Berkleigh. She wouldn't open her mouth and gave me the stink eye again. So I said, "You are going to be hungry! You can't have any applesauce if you are going to be grumpy. Do you want some apple sauce or do you want to be a grump?"

She looked right at me with stink eye full force and said, "Dumpy!"

Saturday, September 6

it is finished.

I love the twins! I love how curious they are! In our old house, I had all the pots and pans in the cabinets under the counter. It worked perfect. There was a happy compatible union between the twins and myself. I didn't care if they played with the pots, pans, bottles, or the tupperware, and they LOVED it.
Then the divide happened! We moved to Huntington Beach, and now all the glass goes below. This situation is a little harder to handle for a couple reason.
1. I love my children, and want them to have fun anywhere in the house.
2. I love all my nesting bowls and don't want to see them come to a sticky end.

The Dilemma: How do I keep myself, the twins, and my glassware happy?

Well it didn't take long for me to decide after seeing this little gem throw this beautiful tantrum, in the wax paper, that she pulled out of the drawer, that was not baby proofed!

I finally decided that I really need to baby proof the rest of the kitchen. Yea, it shouldn't have taken me this long... oh well.

Here I am, in a skirt, with my friend Kristy trying to figure out the little claspy cabinet things. (Thanks for your help!)

After the little kitchen claspy things were drilled and screwed to the cabinets.

The lock we put on the water heater door so the twins, oh who am I kidding, Merrick, doesn't burn himself up by going in there to "play".
