Mustache Bash

I had this vision awhile ago... from a picture... on a blog. Of course I can't find that picture anymore, but it was of a girl standing behind a frame holding a stick with a mustache on the end.

I thought, "I want to throw a mustache baby shower for a friend having a boy."

Well, lucky me, because I have three friends having boys in August, September, and October.

I enlisted my friend Autie (a crafty genius) and we set to work months before planning this party. It was so fun!

Here we are after we set up for the party, messing around in our mustache headbands we made.

Here is what we came up with:
It helps that the two throwing the party are OBSESSED with turquoise because most of the things either she or I owned...

Here is the invite and the entrance to the shower...

We loved having it outside under all the twinkle lights. It gave a whimsical feel. I loved it!

The Milk and Cookie Bar. I made homemade oreos, Autie made mustache sugar cookies and other friends made Coconut Chocolate Chip Cookies, peanut butter kiss, and snickerdoodles.
We also had 6 different kinds of milk in old fashion milk jars: Soy, Strawberry, Chocolate, 2 %, Banana, and Skim.

Autie made the banner, which turned out SOO cute!

We had onesies, receiving blankets and shirts made for the girls with mustaches on them!

I think it was a hit!
I had fun planning with Autie, but most of all, I hope Megan, Kristy and Melody felt loved!
Can't wait to meet your little guys!

26 love notes:

DAAAARLING!!! Now, THAT is creativity at it's best. Well done Jen.

Oh, and I think I totally saw the pic you referenced - some party blog somewhere?? But I swear I've seen it too. So many blogs out there it's hard to remember where things come from!

That is the funnest shower ever! It makes me want to have a boy just for the shower!
So...I've never read the Thunder Cake book, but that does not sound good. Tomatoes in cake? Was it good?
And lastly, Lake Powell. i couldn't be more jealous! Our ward had a Pioneer Day campout. I don't know if you've ever camped in Missouri, but it was miserable, plus Lucy and I were sick, plus it is MISSOURI! (this is Becky, not Jon)

A few of us are planning a shower and one of our friends, Ivy Larsen, gave us this link. I was wondering where you found the cute print of vintage drawn mustaches and the I heart mustache print as well. I will refer to your blog on my blog post :)
If you could let me know I would LOVE it. This is so cute!

This party is ADORABLE! I am doing something similar and I was wondering if you have the files for the printed signs you made. I asked Autie and she said her computer crashed and she lost them but she thought you might still have them. If so, I would LOVE them! You guys did such an awesome job!
Thanks!

Where did you get this big frame??? It's so cute and I can't find one anywhere!

Debbie,
I was really lucky to find it! I was on a 2 mile run one morning, and saw it by a dumpster, I wanted it, so I ran the rest of my run carrying it! When I got home I painted it teal. My best thought would be to look at estate sales, garage sales or goodwill and then paint it.
