What we have been UP too....

Merrick was deep in imagining playing with his cars, and Berkleigh asked to color, so I gave her markers and this was the result after 1 1/2 hours of complete silence and just coloring. I love this stage! :)

(Things to look for: Ariel's bellybuttons, and the blue circles are bubbles. Tiana has a bun!)

(Things to look for: Cinderella's carriage has swirly wheels like the movie. Jasmine's hair has the different ponytail holders like the movie, and I just love the tiger. She is also wearing pants.)

(Things to look for: Rapunzel's hair is wrapped around Eugene's hand. I asked her why, and she said, "She is singing 'Flower gleam and glow', and fixing his hand.) Awesome. I loved it cause it gave me time sit on Pinterest! hehe

Berkleigh got her haircut by Scott Salon and Styling (aka.. me) Don't look to close but at least it is mostly straight. Merrick got one too, but it isn't as dramatic when you aren't cutting 4 inches like with Berkleigh's.

Berkleigh and Merrick have been taking time out of their busy schedules to sing to the new baby. She kicks whenever she hears them! They love it.

I watched ALL of America's Got Talent in the last couple of nights. While doing so I made all of these bows for Berkleigh and the new baby. I found REALLY cheap wool felt and went to town.

My mom and I also made this kindle pocket for me. I love it! I used one of my grandma's old doilies and stitched in it. Now I need to find the cord to charge it again!

We have been going on lots of walks exploring the new parks around our neighborhood. It is really gorgeous here. The sun is shining and everything is so green and lush. I have a feeling I will find out why it is so green and lush in a couple of months. hehe (I will let you know if I am laughing then).

I am trying to catch up on blogging. I have so many posts from Huntington Beach to still do, our trip to Seattle, my family coming to visit... Watch out of blog overloads this week!

The Mountain in the Clouds

I have visited my aunt one other time in my life. I was so young, I don't even remember much about that trip EXCEPT for the mountain in the clouds, Mt. Rainier.

We decided to take a drive and go explore that mountain, and that we did! The sad part was that the day before was sunny and gorgeous, and that day we chose to go see Cowboys and Aliens (indoors) with my 100 year old grandpa!

The day we planned to go to Mt. Rainier, it was foggy and overcast. We were on the mountain and you could never see the peak, but my aunt always told us where it was, and we imagined...

The waterfalls...

This waterfall was neat because there is a bridge right next to it that you drive by before you park to hike down to it.

It is hard to tell, but there is a HUGE waterfall behind us... you can tell that the mist has done some crazy things to my hair though! Cute Berkleigh... Handsome Merrick... The Snow... in August!

Then we found even more snow, but it was time to leave...

My grandpa turned 100! Don't you think that is a cause for celebration? Well, he now lives near Seattle in Rainier with my aunt and uncle, so my mom, dad, bro- Chris, sister in law-Jen, and bro-Matthew came out for the party!

My grandpa and grandma used to live in Santa Cruz, CA. So when we lived in Northern California, we would go down and see them every couple of months. After my grandma died, he moved up to live in Washington.

I thought he would look different when I saw him, I mean, it had been 3 years, but he really did look the same...

We had such a fun party. We had cake, ice cream, and a BBQ. Grandpa had two hamburgers, potato salad, and tons of cake and ice cream. He sure knows how to pack it in!

My mom made him this amazing quilt. It has a beautiful picture of him and my grandma in the center, and ALL his children and grandchildren. She worked so hard on it, and it paid off! Grandpa was so teary eyed when he opened it!

I loved having Merrick and Berkleigh get to know their great grandpa. I hope he is around  for awhile so they can hear his stories. He has lived such a life! And to have been around for the last century... He was born in August of 1911! Just imagine the World events he has lived through!  I really love my grandpa!

Marion Berries

This is a berry, as far as I know, that was developed in our county, Marion County, and therefore called the marionberry. It is a cross between a raspberry and a blackberry, and boy are they delicious.

To celebrate our berry picking days, Tyson and I had this for dessert. Really? Who
doesn't want to come and have some of this!

Blueberries for Merrick and Berkleigh

I have always wanted to pick blueberries. Today, we had a blueberry picking day with some girls in our ward. We had lots of fun cause we took our family along!

Blueberries are $1 a lb. We picked 13.5 lbs! We have so many blueberries! We have some fresh, we flesh dried a bunch, and we will have blueberries for a long time.

When we got home with read Blueberries for Sal, and have eaten lots and lots of fresh blueberries!

Pacific City

We keep going to the beach every weekend. Possibly because we miss the beach, and wish we lived close again, or because Tyson really wanted to find some good surf to prove his surfing buddies wrong... that yes, there is surf in Oregon!

I think he did just that!

We had lots of fun watching the kites, playing in the water, laying on the warm sand, and looking at this amazing rock in the water. We will be going back!
