The Dot

I could say that most of these books are my favorites, but this one has a special spot in my heart... it reminded me when I was a teacher.. .to BE a good teacher. I love it! A friend gave it to me when I got my first teaching job and I loved it. It made me cry a good cry!

So we painted dots...

and signed them.

Flat Stanley

This book is a little old for my 3 year olds, but the activity is fun! I have always loved this book, and we got it free from Borders for doing their summer reading program! (Thanks Kristyn!)

This day the teacher in my seeped out! We made a Flat Merrick and a Flat Berkleigh, and they were shipped off to their first destination. Don't feel safe! They might want to come and stay at your house!
Tutorial here for flat Berkleigh and Merrick.

I love Flat Berkleigh's zebra shoes!

We colored some pictures for Grandma and Grandpa...

We folded them up, stuck them in the envelopes, stamped them...

and sent them to Grandma and Grandpa!

They are excited to see what fun adventures Flat Merrick and Flat Berkleigh go on!

Shapes that Roll

Do you know how hard it is to find a book about bowling?
This one is not about bowling, but about shapes that roll, and bowling balls are shapes that roll... see the connection?

CAUSE

We went BOWLING for free!

Please check out kidsbowlfree.com and get yourself some free passes for the summer. You can't beat 2 free games everyday! PLUS, if you have young kids like me that can't fit in the bowling shoes, you don't have to pay for shoe rentals either!

Merrick got a strike and Berkleigh got two spares. I would say that is a good game for a pair of 3 year olds!

Make Way For Ducklings

This is another favorite of mine, it is such a classic!
We went to one of our favorite parks to feed the ducks.

And then we got a little crazy...

If I Built a Car...

My friend showed me this book once.
It is really cute.
Tyson LOVES the pictures.
We had to incorporate it into our fun days!

There is this awesome donut shop by our house that has a special event every Saturday morning.
It is called Donuts and Derelicts. You can purchase super cheap donuts and walk around and look at old cars people have redone. There are ALWAYS awesome cars there! Take a peek...

I will have a car like this one day. How awesome is that!

We asked Merrick to give a thumbs up. This is what he came up with.

It is the Sheriff from CARS, with curb feelers and all!

You work up an appetite looking at these beautiful cars, so donuts are a must!
My favorite day by far.
