Dips, Milk Mustaches, and Corn Roasts...

I have been really busy getting ready for my First Enrichment Cooking Night Class that I am in-charge of once a month. Everyone brought an ingredient, and we made 6 different dips. We made: shrimp artichoke dip, a creamy sesame seed dip, caramel apple dip, creamy chili dip, salsa, and a fruit dip. They were so yummy. If you want the recipes go to here.

I was going to take a picture before everyone started eating, but not everyone knows me very well in this ward, and I didn't want to look like a freak taking pictures of food. :)

The babes have decided sippy cups are not for them. They feel grown up enough to use big kid cups. That is all fine, and they do a pretty good job, but I don't think i am ready to give up on the sippy. How ingenious is the nonleakage! The one good thing about big kid cups is the cutest milk mustaches I have ever seen.

Ok, so she hasn't MASTERED a big kid cup...

Trying to smile with a mouthful of milk.

Milk mustaches galore!

Our ward had their famous Corn Roast at the beach. It is SUPER cool. They get ocean water and boil corn in it on a fire pit. I have heard about it up north, and have been really excited to try it! The corn was definately super tasty. I loved the saltiness.

The kids can agree. Look at that corn!

I love Berkleigh's milk faces. So cute, you're super brave. If I have my way, Emily still drinks milk from a sippy. It will probably delay her development but it's less mess for me right?

looks like the enrichment was a success! i'll have to check out those recipes.

i feel like i havent seen the twins in months (well, i haven't...but i mean online). berkleigh especially looks like such a big girl! maybe its the milk mustache. kate gets a cup in nursery every week and inevitably dumps water all over her dress each time so i don't think she's quite ready for the cup yet...

I agree that Berkleigh has been looking older in her pictures lately, she is a doll!

WOW- no more sippy cups? I dont know what I would do! They are WAY ahead of Cam on that one!

I remember you telling me about the corn roast and ever since I have wanted to try it so bad! You are so lucky to have ward activities on the beach! It feels like we are already preparing for the snow here :)

Oh, yum! The corn cooked in ocean water sounds so good! We are having a Corn Roast with our ward tomorrow too. We're having it by Cayuga Lake, but I'm sure they won't use the lake water to cook the corn. I don't think corn boiled in lake water would be quite as good. Oh, well.

Not wanting to look like a freak taking pics of food....I felt the same way taking pics of Henry by the body at my grandma's funeral....

Oh well. I hope none of the family was offended. :)

And that corn....sounds....DELICIOUS.

So, are you just trying to make me ridiculously homesick for HB?! The Corn Roast, the cooking group, the beach, Disneyland....It looks like you guys are enjoying life in So Cal. Well, at least I can still go to Lake Powell, right!? :)
