I don't think this will work....

we leave our door open to let the cool ocean air breeze through our apartment because we don't have air conditioning. AC being a "non-necessity" when living in HB.

The twins always high tail it to the door, yelling "We're free! We're free!" It has been a huge pain to keep them in, but keep the door open.

So we got this:

but as you can see Merrick is getting smarter than the gate!

Lauren climbs ours so we turn it with the climbing side out. Is the other side of yours smooth? Maybe that will work.

you need another one to put on top of it!

Oh Boy, this would have worked for Tal, but I think Desi and Merrick have the same "when you approach an obstacle, go over it" mentaliity.

What a stinker! We actually have the gate in the first picture, and they can't climb that one because there isn't a ledge- we got it at Home Depot for like $30 bucks- just FYI if you get too fed up with the current gate :)

That is HILARIOUS! I like the idea of getting another one to put on top. He's such a great climber! :)

I've heard of places where ac is a "non-necessity", but being from Florida, I simply cannot imagine! I've never been anywhere that doesn't get scorching hot in the summer-time. I bet it's awesome!!

As for the climing, I second the screen door recommendation. But the pics you post of Merrick climbing are oh so cute! :-)

Jennifer, it was so great to hear from you! Sorry I'm such a late responder. I enjoyed this post - Dylan does the same thing!! Love your blog too!! I can't believe you have twins (they are so precious!) and that you are out in CA!!

Not sure about the HS reunion - would love to make it and will certainly try but only if it times out ok with the birth of my little girl!! I can't seem to keep up with all the reunion date changes.

Please keep in touch with us!!
