70: La Brea Tar Pits

Day 70 was filled with a no car situation due to getting our car in for a last minute check before our warranty ran out at 100,000 miles... and it was a good thing. $1800 worth of repairs.. we paid just for the liquids to be drained and changed... ahh! That felt good, so day 70 was actually today!
Today was "free" day at the La Brea Tar Pits. It was fun to go with a new friend of mine and her kids. We got to chat, see cool skeletons of mammoths, see burping bubbling tar come out of the ground, try and help a woman having a seizure, have a picnic lunch, and roll down the hill outside of the museum. I call that a good day! (Well, minus that poor lady and her seizure.)
We discovered what it would be like to be stuck in tar.... some of the handles were SO hard to pull up!
I had to take a picture of this! "Extinct Camel" really? I didn't know... and my other favorite was "Ancient Buffalo".. yea, thanks for telling us! Dawn and I laughed about all the very original names...
The millions of wolf skulls they found in the tarpits...
A fun successful day.. and the best part, the kids didn't fall asleep until we got home! We had fun and really good naps!
